My first yoga class was in 2004. It felt amazing and I knew I wanted more of it. At first, I appreciated the physical benefits of yoga. How it allowed my body to heal faster between hard workouts and all those competitive races I volunteered myself to wake up early for, but I still felt like there had to be more to life.
Reflecting back, I was constantly chasing for something better, when all along it was already within me. I just didn’t slow down to realize it. In 2007, a digestive disease forced me into the hospital and I underwent a traumatic surgery. It was the best wake up call I could have received.
To heal faster, I committed to getting out of my comfort zone and started educating myself on eating only plant-based foods. I learned about balancing the yin and yang in my diet and life, and the important role breath has on our bodies as we age.
6 months later, I walked into Gaia Flow and felt the warm embrace I needed. It was on my mat where I was guided to discover my true, most authentic Self. My mat was my very own sacred space; a space where I could just “be”, a judge-free, non-competitive zone where nothing else mattered but “now”.
I felt the calling to share my love of yoga with others. In 2009, I received my RYT 200 hr. certification. I continued on my yoga journey and I am now E-RYT 500 hr. certified. My yoga students are my best teachers and I feel honored to guide them to their own Self-discovery. As their yoga teacher, I hope they know how much they are loved and how much they truly mean to me.
All my love, Namaste
