Stacy Neyland Instructor Gaia Flow Yoga
My yoga journey began over 5 years ago, but I think the Universe had a plan to lead me to yoga well before that. I’ve been an athlete my whole life, competing in cheerleading & gymnastics in high school and then falling into marathon and duathlon races into my 20’s & 30’s. My first taste of yoga was the best gift I’ve ever given myself. In the beginning, I appreciated the physical benefits of yoga. It allowed my body to heal faster between hard workouts and races, but in the fall of ’07, yoga took on a whole different meaning in my life.
In efforts to control a future relapse with Crohn’s Disease, I underwent surgery to remove about 37% of my intestines. During my recovery, I began educating myself on natural healing and eating whole foods. I learned about balancing the yin and yang in my diet and life, and the important role breathe has on our bodies as we age. It was only natural for me to crave a deeper yogic experience and I began feeling the urge to share all that I have learned with others.
As a Gaia Flow Yoga instructor, I want to expose students to a lifestyle that will benefit their whole body, mind and spirit. By leading them through asanas, I will encourage them to become curious, practicing with no agenda and no attachment to the outcome both on and off the mat. Their discovery of Self will be nourished as their ego is abandoned. Freeness will settle in and the present moment will be all that is left for them to relish in.
I want to thank Chrystal and Andres for coming into my life at just the right moment. Their love and devotion to their students is felt from the moment you step inside Gaia Flow Yoga studio. I am honored and grateful to have them in my life as I continue my yoga journey.
All my love, Namaste
